To build and support a global conversation on some of the toughest challenges facing our world, UNDP is again proudly co-hosting the Social Good Summit in New York and in Rwanda  this year on 21-22 September 2014.

While world leaders are convening in September at the United Nations General Assembly, the Social Good Summit provides a unique opportunity for people around the world to engage, listen, respond, and have their ideas heard on how technology and new media can help achieve equality for all by 2030.

Important questions are related to how technology, innovation, and new media being leveraged for social good in Rwanda’s communities. What are the obstacles to progress? What needs to happen?

UNDP Rwanda organized a successful Rwanda Social Good Summit in 2013. We want to have an even bigger impact in 2014—which is why UNDP chief Helen Clark is calling on everyone to get involved: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gR8WuUF_t-8

UNDP Rwanda is building up the momentum and make this year’s Social Good Summit an even bigger success by again organizing and hosting the Rwanda Social Good Summit “Meetups” on September 22 on this year’s theme—Connecting for Good, Connecting for all.

We will invite development experts, civil society, government officials, NGOs, technology leaders, and entrepreneurs, to our local meetup to bring together a diverse range of perspectives. The Rwanda Summit will be filmed and sent back to the main event in New York, then shared and highlighted to create a global conversation with the ideas of participants from all around the world.
